Tehran, Sept 10, IRNA – A group of known artists in a letter to UNESCO Director General Irina Bokova supported candidacy of Iranian elite Ehsan Mohammadi Mahallati for Madanjeet Singh Prize.
On the eve of international day of Peace, the artists supported the culture of peace and its promotion, expressed their support for a young Iranian elite and a peace activist, Ehsan Mohammadi Mahallati for Madanjeet Singh Prize for the Promotion of Tolerance and Non-Violence, awarded every two-year by the UNESCO.
Ehsan Mohammadi Mahallati, a researcher on international studies, peace activist, educated in political science, diplomacy, international law and international relations in Tehran University and Carlton University of Canada, secretary of international studies center of Tehran University and the founding member of inter-cultural committee of Carlton University.
Mahallati named as a candidate for the UNESCO Madanjeet Singh Prize 2016 in June.
The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) founded the prize in year 1996.
The award will be conferred on the winner on November 16, 2016 at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris.
